Critical Judgment Projects: Children’s Rights Judgment Projects

This project involved academics revisiting existing case law from a range of legal disciplines and redrafting judgments from a children’s rights perspective. Each judgment is accompanied by a commentary on the historical and legal context of the case and the rationale behind the revised the judgment. The 28 judgments consider a range of legal issues, including medical decision-making, public authorities and family life from a number of jurisdictions (including Australia, England, Canada, USA, South Africa) and supranational courts. They are published in a collection edited by Helen Stalford, Kathryn Hollingsworth and Stephen Gilmore, Rewriting Children’s Rights Judgments: From Academic Vision to New Practice (Hart Publishing, 2017).
